Staging Your Million Dollar Home for Open House Offers
Jun 08, 2022
You did it! You decided to list your million dollar home. But how to show it in all its glory (without all the day-to-day life stuff)?
The first thing we did once we decided to list our million dollar home was to do a major EDIT!
And we started this process well in advance of a future listing date. We sorted clothes and things into four categories...SELL, DONATE, FIX, STORE.
Once that process was done...it was easy to part with the things we needed to part with.
Next, we cleaned up everything that needed fixing or touching up with paint.
Then, we did a deep cleaning treatment throughout the house. You can't imaging how much just having clean floors throughout your house will make your house sparkle. Hiring this part out is even easier and can cost between $350-$450 for a home over 4000 sq. ft.
AND NOW IT'S TIME FOR STAGING!
I have a handy guide and quick tips for staging for open house offers and how to have the house magazine ready when there's a showing in less than an hour. Download 5 Staging Secrets for Open House Offers here.
One of my biggest tips is LIGHTS UP, TOILET LIDS DOWN!
If your family isn't in the habit of putting the lids down, do a quick sweep of bathrooms before you leave the house (this should also be done for pictures as well).
Decide on elegant snacks. BIG TIP... leave the broccoli out! Raw broccoli has a strong aroma and takes a long time for it to subside. You want your home smelling fresh and clean and inviting for potential buyers. You may want to leave hard cheeses out as well.
